The Conservation Department is happy to host the Tyngsborough & Dunstable Rain Barrel Program in 2026! After taking a gap year in 2025, Tyngsborough & Dunstable are ready to partner with The Great American Rain Barrel Company again to provide residents the opportunity to purchase rain barrels at a discounted price. A rain barrel captures excess water before it is lost, turning a storm into a source of savings. It lets you collect rainwater from your roof reducing dependence on municipal or well water and pollution, minimizing erosion and supporting the health of local watersheds. Simple, affordable, and eco-friendly, a rain barrel keeps your plants, lawn, and garden thriving through dry spells, and it is naturally free of chemicals like chlorine and fluoride. Harvesting rainwater also plays an important role in addressing both drought and flood risks by reducing stormwater runoff volume from entering streets & waterways and by storing rainwater for a later use, residents help manage excess water during intense periods of rainfall.
These rain barrels are 100% re-purposed, UV protected & BPA free barrels produced right here in Massachusetts. All barrels will last for years, are super easy to set-up and come with all the attachments for a garden hose connection.
You can purchase your rain barrels through https://www.greatamericanrainbarrel.com/community/. Make sure you select the correct State & Town. Pickup will be Saturday, April 11th, 2026 from 9:00am-11:00am at the Tyngsborough Highway Dept. The deadline to order is March 29th, 2026 at midnight!
